Employment after Retirement (EaR)
Established by the Welfare Section of the Fire Services Department (FSD), the “Re-Employment Services Unit” aims to provide assistance and counselling services on re-employment for retired members or those who are on pre-retirement leave, so that they may continue to contribute to the society with their strength.
Throughout their career, our members have been professionally trained in diverse disciplines. Not only are they well-versed in firefighting, fire protection and ambulance knowledge with rich operational experience, but they are also highly disciplined and always ready to serve. Adding to their profile is their strong physique from years of physical training. Our members’ performance earns them good reputation both as public servants and potential employees after retiring from the service. They are equipped for various types of work, such as property management, safety supervision, driving, customer service and jobs requiring professional skills. To facilitate the re-employment of retired members, the Welfare Section, through the EaR programme, offers free counselling and recruitment/employment services to employers and retired members of the Department, including dissemination of information of job vacancies provided by employers to retired members and referral of résumés of retired members to employers.
Employers
Employers who wish to employ retired FSD members may send the recruitment information to the Re-Employment Services Unit by:

We will distribute the recruitment information to retired members as soon as possible, then collect and refer résumés of interested members to the employers for their consideration and interview arrangement.
Retired members seeking employment
FSD members who wish to continue employment after retirement may look for job opportunities via the Re-employment Services Unit. Retired members may browse job vacancies from:
- notices on the “Employment after Retirement” page of the FSD website;
- notices posted on the notice board outside the office of the FSD Welfare Section (Room 1106, 11/F, Fire Services Headquarters Building);
- notices posted outside the office of the Hong Kong Fire Services Retired Members’ Mutual Aid Association (3/F, Tsim Sha Tsui Fire Station, 333 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui Fire Station);
- notices posted on notice boards in FSD staff quarters; and
- email/WhatsApp messages on employment sent by the Welfare Section from time to time. To receive them, please make sure you have provided/updated your personal email address/phone number with the Welfare Section.
Interested members should download the résumé and fill in all personal particulars and specify the interested posts, then return it to the Re-Employment Services Unit by:
