Voluntary Recognition Scheme for FSI Technicians
Voluntary Recognition Scheme for FSI Technicians
Purpose of the Scheme
To enhance the professionalism and performance standard of practitioners carrying out maintenance work of fire service installation (FSI), the Fire Services Department has implemented the Voluntary Recognition Scheme (VRS) for FSI Technicians in August 2021. Eligible FSI practitioners can apply to become a recognized FSI Technician after completing prerequisite trainings organized by FSD and Recognized Training Providers.
A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the VRS, chaired by the Assistant Director (Licensing and Certification) of FSD and comprising representatives from FSICA, local University and other Government Departments, was established in May 2021 to advise on the recognition requirements and implementation of the Scheme, ensuring the Scheme could cater for the needs of the trade.
A register providing a list of recognized FSI Technicians with their recognized FSI categories will be maintained and uploaded to this homepage periodically by FSD for easy verification by RFSICs and other organizations.
