When reporting a fire/special service incident, you should
- Remain calm, dial 999
- Clearly state the location of incident
e.g. street name, street number, building name, floor and room number, etc. - Provide your contact telephone number
- Clearly state the nature of incident
e.g. building fire, gas leakage, etc. - Briefly describe the situation at scene
e.g. people trapped, number of casualties, etc. - Follow the questions and provide appropriate information
AMBULANCE SERVICE
When calling for an ambulance, you should
- Remain calm, dial 999
- Clearly state the location of incident
e.g. street name, street number, building name, floor and room number, etc. - Provide your contact telephone number
- Clearly state the nature of injury or sickness
e.g. cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, etc. - Follow the questions and provide appropriate information
