Remove the stinger stuck in the skin as quickly as possible.
Remove it with a pair of fine-tipped tweezers or scrap a card across the skin to flick it out.
If you do not have any suitable tools with you, remove the stinger by hand carefully. Remember to grab the shaft of the stinger throughout the entire process as this will avoid squeezing the venom sac.
Rinse the wound with clean water.
Apply a cold compress to the wound to ease pain and reduce swelling.
Seek medical help immediately if the symptoms become severe.
