Point 2 to Point 3 of the Reference
of General Disciplined Services (Rank & File) Pay Scale [See Note (1)]
($12,575 - $12,955), as commensurate with respective entry qualifications. |

Duties : |
- To provide ambulance aid and
pre-hospital care services;
- To carry out ambulance duties,
including ambulance driving.
(Note: subject to discipline, required to work shifts
and wear uniform.)

Requirements : |
Candidates should :

have
(a) |
5 subjects,
including Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B),
at Grade E or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education
Examination, or equivalent ($12,955 per month); or |
(b) |
3 subjects, including
Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B), at Grade
E or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination,
or equivalent ($12,575 per month). |
- be able to pass the Physical Fitness
Test and the Job-related Performance Test (please refer to Fire Services
Department website or call the recruitment hotline for details);
- be able to speak fluent Cantonese;
(Note : Candidates who are in possession
of a valid Hong Kong driving licence is an advantage.)

Terms
of Appointment :
|
- Civil service vacancies are posts
on the civil service establishment. Candidates selected for these vacancies
will be appointed on civil service terms of appointment and conditions
of service and will become civil servants on appointment.
- New recruits will be appointed
on prevailing probationary terms and will be offered the prevailing
permanent terms upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
- Before passage of probation bar,
appointees should
(a) pass an examination at the conclusion of the Initial Training Course;
(b) possess a valid Fire Service driving licence; and
(c) pass the physical fitness assessment before confirmation.

Tsui, Kowloon (Working hours during recruiting period: Monday to Friday
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.); or
- complete and return their application
forms [G.F.340 (Rev.01/2004)] by post to the Recruitment Section, 8/F,
Fire Services Headquarters Building, 1 Hong Chong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
East, Kowloon; or
- apply by on-line application through
Civil Service Bureau website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).

- Reference pay scale is the pay
scale introduced on 1 April 2000 for appointment on starting salaries.
- New recruits to the civil service
must be a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region permanent resident.
- Holders of academic qualifications
other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations
and Assessment Authority should attach copies of their academic qualification
documents to the application form.

- Applicants, except those who
submit their application on-line to Civil Service Bureau website, should
attach 2 stamped, self-addressed envelopes to their application forms.
Where applicants have provided an e-mail address, acknowledgement of
receipt will be made electronically to the same e-mail address. On the
other hand, on-line applicants will receive an on-line application number
upon completion of electronic submission.
